Design specification
Idea. Tune a publication instead of moving through a menu.
Composition. An enormous amber instrument dial occupies the page, with radial station labels, fine calibration ticks and the programme title nested at its centre.
Navigation and complete example. Tune six fictional late-night programmes, read their transcripts and liner notes, and save an ordered listening sequence. This silent specimen demonstrates tuning without a live radio dependency.
Responsive and inclusive behaviour. The dial scales to the phone width. A labelled range and next/previous controls provide precise selection independent of spatial pointing. All controls are native buttons or labelled inputs. Movement is discretionary, no sound starts automatically, reduced-motion preferences remove transitions, and a direct index exposes the same content.
Adaptation. Use meaningful frequency stops and programme content inside the instrument. Keep listening optional and offer complete transcripts. Retain the relationship between navigation and content. Do not reduce the reference to a generic hero followed by interchangeable cards.
Research. [Radio Garden — About](https://radio.garden/settings/radio-garden); [Typatone](https://typatone.com/). These are conceptual precedents, not copied artwork, source code, branding or text. All diagrams and sample writing in this specimen are original, fictional material.
